The BASS-SD (Bands Accessing Skills Support – Southern Downs) A-Venue program based on the Southern Downs Region includes the following areas: Warwick, Stanthorpe, Killarney, Allora and surrounding smaller townships.
The program targets young people aged 12 to 24 years of age and aims to increase their technique, skills and knowledge around music, develop social skills for those interested in the music industry, support youth engagement opportunities across the Southern Downs, promoting a positive profile of young musicians and bands, and creating career development opportunities for young musicians and bands.
The program also offers the opportunity for rural young people the opportunity to perform at gigs locally and regionally and be supported to continue their music after finishing school or moving on from the area, as well as open their eyes to what they can achieve in the music industry.
